What is the preservation process?
Your milk goes through a heat and chemical preservation process that prevents any bacterial or fungal growth. Once it's preserved and set in our stone material your milk will never "go bad". It's just as hygienic as any other piece of jewellery.
What can I add to my jewellery?
All keepsake jewellery can hold anything special to you, including:
- Breast milk/Colostrum

- Hair/Pet Fur/Feathers
- Dried Flowers
- Umbilical stump/Placenta
- Pregnancy test strips/lines/lids
- Flowers/Sand/Soil/Fabric
- Almost anything else

Yes, you can add multiple inclusions to your keepsake stone, e.g. milk + hair + umbilical cord.
You can also combine milk from different breastfeeding journeys or add both breastmilk and colostrum.
Can I change my order?
Once you have placed your order no amendments can be made to your design. Please make sure you input your design request correctly.
What kind of aftercare is involved with Milk & Stone keepsake jewellery?
Your stone has a similar hardness to glass, is scratch resistant, shatter-proof, waterproof and non-yellowing. Although your jewellery is suitable for everyday wear, it's important to follow these care instructions to keep your jewellery looking beautiful:
1. Always remove your jewellery before swimming in chlorinated water. Chlorine is corrosive to precious metals.
2. Avoid contact with anything that may stain your jewellery such as hair dye, turmeric, fake tan, etc.
3. Avoid contact with harsh solvents (e.g. acids). These may dull the shine of your stone.
4. Please do not take rings to a jeweller to be resized. The heat used to do this will damage your stone.
5. Avoid digging sharp objects such as fingernails directly into your stone.
6. To keep your keepsake looking its best, be mindful of wearing it during activities where it may get bumped such as going to the gym. If wearing everyday, polishing monthly with a cloth will help keep its shine.
Read more through our Jewellery Care guide.
How can I obtain my ring size?
We recommend having your ring size measured through your local jewellery store. This is often a complimentary service.
Please avoid using a print-at-home sizing tool as these can be very inaccurate.
What is the turnaround time of my order?
All jewellery is handmade to order. Our turnaround time fluctuates depending on circumstances outside of our normal operation conditions. You can find an up-to-date turn around time on our Order Status page.
What if I move after placing my order?
This is okay! You can send us an email with your order number referenced to hello@milkandstone.com.au
We will update your order to be sent to your new address.
Milk & Motherhood jewellery.
How much milk do I need to send?
We need 2-15ml of breastmilk.
Do I need to send fresh or frozen milk?
You can send fresh or frozen/expired milk. If you're sending frozen milk, please make sure to defrost your milk before posting.
We've made stones with milk that had been frozen for over 10 years!
Will my milk go bad in transit?
No, your milk will not spoil in transit if it has been correctly packaged (inside a sterile milk storage bag with no air trapped).
Dose milk need to stay cold in transit?
No, as long as you send it in a sterile storage bag (just a normal one used for expressed milk), your milk doesn't need to stay cold in the post. When packaged properly, breastmilk can travel in the post for many weeks and still be completely fine to use in your jewellery.
I don't have a sterile storage bag, can I use a ziplock bag/jar/container?
No, it's important to only send your breastmilk/colostrum in a sterile milk storage bag with as much air taken out as possible (all regular milk storage bags are sterile).
If your milk is sent in anything else it may spoil in the post when it becomes warm.
Do you keep the leftover preserved milk?
Yes, we will keep any leftover preserved milk on file for 24 months. This is in case of any more orders you'd like to make or if your stone gets damaged while being worn daily.

For more information about our product and our guarantees please refer to our terms of service and warranty pages.
Is my stone waterproof?
Our product is 100% waterproof, you can wear your jewellery in the shower!
We do recommend removing your keepsake before entering chlorinated water as this is corrosive to the metal component of your keepsake.
Can my jewellery get wet?
Yes your keepsake can get wet. However, we do recommend exercising caution when wearing your jewellery in environments such as rivers or oceans as you may loose your precious piece.
Please keep in mind that sterling silver and gold-filled jewellery can tarnish with water exposure and may require more frequent polishing.
What is the difference between Gold Filled and Solid Gold?
Our gold filled range is of good quality and is suitable for daily wear however will not last as long as solid gold keepsakes. Gold filled keepsakes can last for 10-30 years however scratches cannot be repaired as this repair process will expose the base metal.
Gold plated keepsakes cannot be replated, our stones are made into the keepsake setting and cannot be removed. Replating your gold filled keepsake will damage the stone.
Solid gold/platinum are the highest quality keepsake. These options are best for heirloom pieces and perfect for everyday wear. Solid metals do not need replating and scratches can be repaired.
Our silver, solid gold and platinum rage do not tarnish.

from 111 reviewsAbsolutely beautiful ring, very solid and feels like it will last forever. The shipping instructions for sending my breastmilk were easy to follow. Highly, recommend!
Absolutely in love with my precious ring. Thank you, thank you.
Very happy with my keepsake. Beautifully made. Thank you Lauren and Jared
I can’t thank Milk and Stone enough for creating such a beautiful and incredibly meaningful piece of jewellery for my niece’s 30th birthday.
We had her mum’s ashes incorporated into a necklace, and the result was absolutely beautiful.
From start to finish, Milk and Stone were so thoughtful and caring. You could tell that they understood just how much meaning was behind this piece, and they treated it with such care.
My niece absolutely loves it, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Thank you for creating something that she will treasure forever. ❤️
My breastmilk ring is now my family piece of jewellery, very beautiful and special
We recently received our beautiful heart ring with our 21 week still born daughter’s ashes as an inclusion along with Kunzite stone and opalescent flakes and it had blown us away how beautiful and special it turned out. Lauren and Jared were extremely respectful and thoughtful with the whole process from start to finish and we couldn’t be happier with our keepsake for our angel. Highly highly recommend.
The perfect breastmilk ring. My breast feeding journey started off pretty rough and I was told I might not be cut out for it, but I stuck with it and was able to breast feed for a year. I am forever grateful for my journey and now my ring is the perfect memory!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you. 🤍
My breastmilk ring arrived today, and the moment I opened it, I was reduced to tears.
To most people it’s just a beautiful piece of jewellery, but to me it holds years of cuddles, comfort, sleepy feeds, middle-of-the-night moments, and a bond I’ll cherish forever. You have taken something so deeply meaningful and turned it into a piece I can wear every single day.
The craftsmanship is absolutely stunning, but it’s what the ring represents that has touched my heart the most. Thank you for treating something so precious with such care and creating a keepsake that I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.
I truly can’t thank you enough. 🤍
I just received my milk ring, and I can't stop looking at it, it's perfect. Jared was really kind answering all of my questions, you can tell he cares about each customer, which makes the whole experience even more special.
The most beautiful ring, to represent the most beautiful time of my life - becoming a mother. Wasn't sure how my placenta and umbilical cord would look, but they have been incorporated so well. A piece of me and a piece of my baby to stay with me always!
Feels like a drop of motherhood, a real gold medal highlighting the struggles, commitment and love of being a mum 😍
I’m so in love with how my piece turned out. Couldn’t have done a better job. Thank you so much for the beautiful work you do, it’s spectacular.
Can’t expect more, just love my keepsake and I can feel it’s been made with kindness and love.
Absolutely obsessed with my ring. Best way to remember a beautiful (yet exhausting) time with my two loves. Have had many people ask where i had it made, and I couldn’t recommend Milk and Stone fast enough.
It is so worth the wait! Such a delicate beautiful ring to celebrate my 22 months of breastfeeding! I am blown away by it!
